POSTED: AUG 27, 2007
HILL CITY, SD – Prairie Berry Winery has received a much-coveted Best of Show award at the 2007 San Francisco International Wine Competition for their 2006 Seyval Blanc. The wine will be featured for the next year on the competition’s web site which notes, “This year’s best of show are the spirits which our entire judging panel selected as the best in each category. Representing the finest examples of their respective types, these wines are worthy of special consideration.”

More than 1000 wineries submitted entries from 21 different countries, and only 19 “Best Varietal” distinctions were given, with all other recipients from the East and West Coasts or from other nations.

Prairie Berry Winery is no stranger to winning awards at international wine competitions, having accumulated nearly 200 medals and accolades for 35 of their wines since they started entering commercial wine competitions in 2001. Located three and a half miles northeast of Hill City on Highway 385, their winery’s Tasting Room is open daily, year-round, for people to sample their award-winning wines.
