Prairie Berry Receives Gold Medal from New York
POSTED: APR 15, 2008HILL CITY, SD – Prairie Berry Winery has received yet another gold medal, this time at the 2008 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition near Rochester, New York. Calamity Jane, a sweet, fruity Concord grape wine was the award recipient and one of only 121 gold medals awarded. More than 2350 wines from 14 countries and 39 states compete at the annual Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.
Prairie Berry Winery is no stranger to winning awards having accumulated more than 253 medals and accolades for 40 of their wines since they started entering commercial wine competitions in 2001. Located three and a half miles northeast of Hill City on Highway 385, their winery’s Tasting Room is open daily, year-round, for people to sample their award-winning wines and enjoy lunch or appetizers at their Euro-Deli.
