At the 2022 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition held from January 11 -14, Prairie Berry Winery took home 6 medals.

Black Hills Red Blend 2021 received an impressive Best of Class award, and was also a sweepstakes contender for Best of Red Wine. 58 wines were sweepstakes contenders which is the top 1% of the wines entered.

Mike Dunne, a longtime SFCWC wine judge and a former food editor, wine columnist, and restaurant critic stated, “In aroma and flavor (Black Hills Red Blend 2021) is all muscle and speed, running largely to exceptionally fragrant and sweet bright-red fruits.” 

Additionally, Brianna 2021 and Raspberry Honeywine both took home double gold, and Cherry Crab Apple won gold. Frontenac 2021 captured a silver medal and Rosy Ass Rhubarb won a bronze medal from the competition, which featured over 5,700 wines from more than 1,100 wineries.
