Not for the faint of heart, our Black and Stormy Sangria is made with Lawrence Elk wine, fresh oranges and blackberries, and a sprinkle of magic.
Makes 4-6 servings.
- 1 bottle of Lawrence Elk wine
- 2 cups orange juice
- 1/2 cup simple syrup
- Sliced oranges
- Additional fresh fruit for garnish
- Orange zest
- Dry ice (optional)
Mix the first 5 ingredients together and chill for a few hours. Add ice (or dry ice), orange zest, fresh fruit, and additional simple syrup (to taste). Try adding dry ice to your sangria for a spooky, Halloween effect.
Use tongs to drop dry ice cubes into your guests’ drinks before serving. A small cube will bubble for about five minutes before disappearing. Caution your guests not to drink the dry ice cubes.
Simple Syrup recipe
