Poker Face features the face of Poker Alice, a legendary card player from Western South Dakota.
Poker Alice wasn’t perfect, but she took care of herself. Quite a fashionable looker in her younger days, after she was widowed she ran a saloon/gambling hall/house of ill repute near Sturgis.
She was once arrested for shooting a man who was causing a ruckus in her business.
While awaiting trial, she spent her time in jail smoking cigars and reading the Bible. She was acquitted.
She was later arrested again, but was pardoned by the governor because she was 75 years old at the time.
